Hiring client questions & answers

Find answers below to common hiring client questions across SafeContractor, ComplyWorks and SafeLearning.

Responsibilities and visibility

Hiring clients usually define requirements, review submissions, monitor status and confirm whether contractors or workers are ready for work. Depending on the product, this can include qualification criteria, compliance standards, site rules, training expectations and ongoing visibility into renewals or outstanding items.

No, hiring clients usually define, review, track or monitor. Contractors and workers are more often asked to complete questionnaires, submit documents, finish training or keep their status current.

Visibility means having a clear view of whether required steps have been completed and if work can move forward. This can include checking contractor qualification, workforce status, worksite compliance, training completion or upcoming renewals.

No, hiring clients may manage more than prequalification, including contractor qualification, worker and worksite compliance, training and readiness. SafeContractor and ComplyWorks both support these needs. SafeLearning supports training delivery, completion tracking and credential visibility.

Requirements and review

That depends on the product, but it can include qualification criteria, required documents, questionnaires, insurance requirements, policy acknowledgements, training expectations, worksite rules and broader compliance obligations. Some requirements are company-wide, while others are tied to a worker, site or project.

Yes. In SafeContractor, hiring clients can add client-specific questions through client-specific questionnaires, alongside contractor profiles and the more comprehensive SafeContractor questionnaire.

Yes, requirements can change based on the site, project, type of work, province or regulatory climate. SafeContractor, ComplyWorks and SafeLearning all support configurable requirements that reflect where and how work is performed.

Generally, hiring clients set the requirements and review or monitor whether those requirements are being met. In SafeContractor, Veriforce review teams also assess submitted information before approval. In ComplyWorks and SafeLearning, hiring clients use visibility, reporting and status indicators to monitor progress and readiness.

Visibility and status

Hiring clients should be able to see what’s complete, what still needs attention and what may affect readiness or compliance. Depending on the product, this can include contractor status, workforce activity, worksite compliance, credential validity, renewals or training progress.

Overall status is designed to make contractor compliance easier to track. It reflects critical items such as questionnaire completion, client-specific requirements and key documents. A contractor may show up as approved, in progress or at risk, depending on what’s current, missing or expired.

Yes, both SafeContractor and ComplyWorks support broader visibility across teams, locations and sites. ComplyWorks is especially built for multi-site and multi-business-unit tracking across contractor, workforce and worksite compliance.

Yes, SafeContractor allows hiring clients to search the contractor network, view status details and invite contractors into their network or qualification process.

Yes. Status views can show missing items, expiring records and renewals that affect readiness or compliance. In SafeLearning, hiring clients can also see credential validity and renewal timelines tied to workforce readiness.

Training and readiness

Yes, SafeLearning gives hiring clients a structured way to assign learning, deliver courses and define required training tied to roles, risk exposure, site policy or work activity.

Yes, where supported. SafeLearning can deliver training through its own platform or through a customer LMS, giving hiring clients more flexibility in how courses are assigned and delivered.

Worksite and compliance visibility

Use these FAQs as a guide, not step-by-step instructions

These FAQs answer common hiring client questions, but they don’t replace more detailed guidance. If your question depends on a specific workflow, site, project, region, dashboard view or client setup, you may need more direct support.

  • When product details change the answer

Some answers may vary by product. SafeContractor and ComplyWorks both support contractor management, but the workflow, labels or available functions may differ depending on which one you use. SafeLearning supports training, completion tracking and credential visibility.

  • When direct support is the best next step

Move beyond FAQs when the issue is about a specific account, contractor, site, project, status change, missing submission, report view or training setup. That’s where hiring client support or direct contact becomes the best next step.
